Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do you accept my insurance?
We are non-contracted (out-of-network) providers with insurance companies, but as a courtesy to you we are happy to file your claim to help you obtain reimbursement. Since your coverage is a contract between you and your insurance company, we cannot guarantee coverage or payment.
-
What is your financial policy?
Payment is collected at the time of treatment. We accept all major credit cards and checks, and also accept Care Credit. (Courtesy discounts are available for members of the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion Post 283.) If you have dental insurance and would like us to help you submit your out-of-network claim, we can electronically file a claim for you. It is your responsibility to follow up with your insurance company.
-
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes! Please call or email us and request a virtual consult with one of our team members, and they will assist you to set one up.

What kind of cleaning do I need?
The kind of dental cleaning you need depends on your gum health. Take this automotive example: You wouldn’t get a full car detail if your car only has some surface dust; conversely, would wouldn’t just need an exterior polish if there is mud caked on the car everywhere, even beneath the hood. It is important that your dentist or hygienist checks your “pocket depths” and bone levels around the surfaces of each tooth and records those measurements at least yearly. This determines your gum health status. Gum disease is associated with little or no discomfort or pain, so it is important to allow your hygienist and dentist to regularly assess your gum tissues. Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround your teeth– it can be mild with signs of inflammation only (gingivitis), or it can be severe (periodontitis) with signs of bone loss that can lead to tooth loss.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a 72 hour notice (business hours/3 days) to avoid a fee of $150 per hour of treatment scheduled.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as last minute cancellations prevent us from rendering care to another patient at that time.
-
Where do I park?
Our building has parking available to all guests and visitors (cash and card accepted). We do not validate. Metered street parking is also available adjacent to our office building.
-

-Or, enter our building (881 Alma Real) on the street/lobby level, take the elevator DOWN to the ‘T’ level. Make 2 right turns from the elevator.

What is biomimetic dentistry?
In our practice we take a ‘biomimetic approach’–which focuses on conserving natural tooth structure and being minimally invasive. We strive to mimic nature in both esthetics and function, choosing biocompatible materials and honoring the physical properties of your tooth. We strive to save as much tooth structure as possible while still giving the patient a predictably strong restoration with an inlay/onlay, or even a bonded filling in an esthetic area.
Because this approach may be more technique sensitive than traditional dentistry, your appointments are not rushed. We take meticulous care to abide by protocols that have been proven in studies to show improved outcome, whether doing restorative dentistry or surgery.
